AVIx Soother Spray

Patented quaternary ammonium suspended in aloe vera distillate and water for topical pain relief.

Available as a 240ml bottle.

Benefits

• Can be applied to broad surface areas to help reduce superficial itching and soothe sore and irritated areas.

• Can assist with pain relief through the analgesic properties of the patented quaternary ammonium solution.

• Can help promote the healing of sensitive skin, wounds, bruises, post-surgical incisions and superificial lesions often associated with feather-picking or self-mutilation.

• Uses transdermal technology for efficacy of topical application and pain relief, and can act as a vehicle for other drugs (e.g. antibiotics where appropriate).

• The spray allows it to be used on large areas or with difficult to handle patients where ointments or creams would not be suitable. Can also act as a vehcile for administering other agents (e.g. F10 for wound sterilisation).

Soother Spray and Feather Plucking

Whilst the causes of feather plucking can be many, and often multi-factorial (diet, behaviour, boredom, habit), the tendency can be enhanced by poor skin and feather condition, or through the irritation that plucking itself causes.

Use of the Soother Spray has been shown to assist feather pluckers by hydrating the skin and feathers, and improving their condition, and offering pain relief to the affected areas.

The bird is therefore less discomforted by the area, and is less aware of it, and the need to 'scratch the itch' is reduced.

Whilst not being a cure to the underlying issue, the use of Soother Spray has, in many instances, helped improve the condition of a 'plucker'.
